What
does the Foundation do?
The Thomas Memorial
Library Foundation raises funds to ensure a great library reaches and serves all people in Cape Elizabeth for generations to come.
How do we do it?
With the support of library
patrons, citizens, foundations and local businesses we are building a fund which will grow and protect the library from future
fiscal uncertainties. It will also enable the library to do basic capital repairs
and maintain a high-quality and diverse collection. But we need your help.
Did you know?
The Thomas Memorial Library is about more than just checking out books! In the past two years, the Library Trustees and the Friends have sponsored:
Ø A Tax Cap Forum attended by 200 Cape Citizens and filmed for use by libraries throughout
Maine
Ø A series on “Healthy Aging”
through the Cape Community Services
Ø A “Diverse Voices” Lecture
Series which brought six acclaimed authors to Cape Elizabeth.
Ø Rachel Davis’ ever-popular
children’s story hours
Ø Wayne from Maine children’s music performance and
other summer highlights.
Ø Rotating art shows of local artists
Ø The annual Fall book and bake sale
